HIGHFILL Vice President, Ray Cox, was honored at the 2013 NCAWWA-WEA Conference with an induction into the Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers (5S). North Carolina’s 5S Chapter was established in 1986 to help shape, support, and promote the objectives of the North Carolina Water Environment Association. Members are selected based on their long-time dedication and service to the association. The Water Environment Federation further explains that 5S shovels are given “to recognize outstanding and meritorious service [that goes] above and beyond the call of duty.” Check out a list of previous 5S Award Recipients on the NCAWWA-WEA website.
